Boston College High School receives the largest donation in its history.

(April) The school receives $49 million from the Cadigan family Foundation for construction of the Cadigan Wellness Center, named for the late Patrick Cadigan, who graduated in 1952. It is said to be the largest donation to a Catholic secondary school in New England. Cadigan had donated the previous largest donation to the school, $12 million in 2012 for construction of a new arts and recreation center.
